Steve has worked in the financial services sector since 1984. Throughout that time he has been actively involved in the independent advisory sector working closely with financial advisers and planners in sales, senior management and consultancy positions.
Steve spent 21 years with Friends Provident, where, as National Sales Manager, he was a key member of the senior management team, leading key strategic and operational change programmes, as well as spearheading adviser engagement and education activity, in the early days of the Retail Distribution Review.
Steve became Managing Director of FP Advance in June 2008 before establishing Steve Billingham Consulting Ltd in April 2010. Steve’s “purpose” is to provide practical hands on consultancy and implementation support to advisers looking for a step-by-step approach to developing an RDR compliant business model, long-term, profitable client relationships and improved financial results.
He writes regularly in the industry media as well as providing practical practice management insights through his own blog at www.stevebillingham.com/blog

Steve lives in Sussex, with his wife Sue, but still hasn’t lost his “northern grit” or the Yorkshire accent!
